Rais wa Jamhuri ya Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta amezungumza kwa njia ya simu na Rais wa Jamhuri ya Muungano wa Tanzania, Dkt John Pombe Magufuli kumpa pole kufuatia vifo vya watu na madhara mengine yaliyotokana na tetemeko la ardhi mkoani Kagera.
Tetemeko lililotokea mkoani Kagera Septemba 10, limesababisha vifo vya watu 16, kuacha watu 253 wakiwa na majeraha mbalimbali ya mwili na nyumba zaidi ya 1000 zikiwa zimebomolewa.
Taarifa kutoka kwa msemaji wa Rais Kenyatta alisema kuwa Rais Kenyatta ameahidi kutoa msaada wa mabati, blanketi na magodoro ili kuwasaidia watu wasio na makazi mkoani Kagera.
Msaada huo utasafirishwa kwa ndege na Jeshi la Kenya Jumanne Septemba 13 hadi mkoani Kagera ambapo ndipo palipopata madhara.

Yesterday, President Uhuru Kenyatta phoned President John Pombe Magufuli to express solidarity and sympathy to the Government and the people of the United Republic of Tanzania following the loss of lives, injuries and destruction of property resulting from the earthquake that affected the region on Saturday.
“I have learnt with deep sorrow and regret the loss of sixteen precious lives, injury to hundreds of our Tanzanian brothers and sisters, as well massive destruction of property and livelihoods following the devastating earthquake in Bukoba District, in North Western Tanzania,” President Kenyatta said.
He added: “On behalf of the Government and the people of Kenya, and on my own behalf, I extend heartfelt condolences and sympathies to Your Excellency, the Government and people of Tanzania, and particularly to the grieving families.”
The Head of State wished those injured quick recovery and prayed to God to comfort the bereaved families.
President Kenyatta said Kenya will send a donation of iron sheets, blankets and mattresses that will be airlifted by the Kenya Defence Forces on Tuesday to assist those affected by the disaster in Tanzania.
